With increasing concerns about safety and security in various sectors such as events, corporate offices, residential areas and public spaces, the demand for security professionals is consistently high. Working in security helps develop valuable skills such as conflict resolution, situational awareness, communication and first aid, which are transferable to many other careers.
What our program offers
As a council, we are excited to offer an exceptional opportunity for individuals seeking a rewarding career in security and stewarding. Our comprehensive program is free and includes:
10 Days of Intensive Training
Gain the essential skills and knowledge required for a successful career in security. Our training is designed to be thorough and engaging, preparing you for real-world scenarios.
SIA Security Qualification
Obtain your Security Industry Authority (SIA) qualification, a recognised credential that will enable you to work in a variety of security roles. See more information on what you need you will need to provide.
Spectator Safety Level 2 Certification
Enhance your expertise with specialised training in spectator safety, ensuring you are well equipped to manage crowds and maintain safety at large events.
Guaranteed Job Offer
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive your SIA licence (which the provider will apply for on your behalf) and a guaranteed job offer with Trojan Security, providing you with immediate employment opportunities.
Specifications
You must be able to fulfil all the specifications below to be eligible for this program:
- A Waltham Forest resident
- Aged 19 or over
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Have a good command of the English language both written and spoken
- Be unemployed for over 6 months and on work related benefits i.e. Universal Credit
- Not be registered with any training provider
- Able to commit to attending a 10 day training programme from Monday 23 September to Friday 4 October - 9:00am to 5:00pm
- You need to have 5 years’ worth of checkable employment or unemployment history. This can be shown on your CV if you have been employed or if you have been unemployed for the last 5 years you can get proof from the job centre.

Additional Employability Support
If you are not chosen to take part in this program or you do not meet the specifications, you may be eligible for additional employment support from us through our various funded programs. This includes having an employment advisor provide direct ongoing assistance to you and helping you build the right skills needed to secure employment.
