Spotlight on Mustafa Mohammed Abdullah
Muralist and Artist

Hi Mustafa! Tell us a bit about yourself. Your journey and what you think about art and the importance of creativity?
I am originally from Sudan. I have met many people from different cultures. When I was in my country I worked in painting and I love this job. I think I can do better in this job and do something different.
You recently worked with Revel Puck on their Christmas Show. Can you tell us a bit about the experience?
Revel Puck Circus was lovely time for me, it was my first real job. I met many people from different cultures and backgrounds. The people were very friendly with me and it was a nice job for me. I liked it and I would like to do more, it has helped me to improve my English. Also, the team were so friendly.
You came to the Soho Theatre Flock. Can you tell us a bit about it? What did you like?
What I remember about Soho Theatre is that the play was about losing someone dear, which touched me deeply because I have also lost some close people. I loved the story because it felt very honest and emotional. The acting was amazing and felt so real, as if I was living the experience with them. The play was full of emotions and left a deep impression on me
If money was irrelevant (did not matter), what would you imagine your dream job/ life to look like?
My life would be simple but meaningful. I would spend my time doing things I love, like painting or helping people express themselves. I would love to travel to discover new places and learn about different cultures. I want to live in a peaceful place close to nature, where I can balance work, creativity and rest. I would also like to help others through teaching or creating opportunities for them to achieve their dreams. I don’t want others to go through the same difficult experiences I’ve been through; I want to help them avoid that and have a better life. My life would be filled with purpose, freedom and peace.
If you could change one thing about the world right now, what would it be?
It would be to stop inequality. I would make sure that everyone has the same chances for education, healthcare and a good life. I believe that if everyone had these opportunities, the world would be a better place. Stopping inequality would help reduce poverty, improve health, and allow people to reach their full potential, making the world fairer and more just for everyone.
